Used Land Rover Cars For Sale

No car manufacturer is as entrenched in the 4x4 market as Land Rover is and that position must be a concern for the company, with socio-economic factors increasingly causing motorists to question whether any kind of SUV is the right way to go. What isn't up for debate is that if you want a 4x4, Land Rover manufactures some of the very best around and now could be a good time to pick a pre-owned one up for a song.

A historic view on Land Rover

Launched in 1997, the Freelander is the smallest Land Rover and has been a massive success for the company. Early models had teething problems but these were rectified and later second hand cars are popular. The Freelander 2 launched in 2006 and went straight to the top of the compact 4x4 class. Used cars are widely available but demand is strong. The Discovery is Land Rover's family 4x4. Big, tough and practical, it has proven a major hit with family buyers and is excellent off-road. Buy a used Land Rover Discovery 3, which was on sale from 2004 and you'll have a highly versatile vehicle on your hands. It was the Discovery 3 that spawned the first Range Rover Sport, the two cars sharing the same underpinnings. The junior Range Rover commands quite a premium on the used car market but you get a plusher interior and more agile handling. That just leaves the full blown Range Rover itself, still the ultimate 4x4 in many people's eyes. Hefty running costs mean used second hand versions are not as expensive as you might think and no other 4x4 feels this special.
