Well, although there only three engines to choose from, including petrol and diesel, there are five power outputs, so there should be something to meet most tastes in terms of performance. Actually, they're all pretty good in this respect, but if high performance is your thing, then you should probably look at the S model, which boasts a 3.0L V6 supercharged petrol engine that powers you from 0 - 62mph in a short but thrilling 5.1 seconds! All the XE engines are respectable in terms of economy, too, comparing well against others in its class. As to equipment, the XE is well stocked up, and every model comes with Jaguar's InControl touchscreen system, with an integrated 8.0" screen and satnav. Plus, as you might expect with Jaguar, there's no shortage of optional extras for those who like their creature comforts, though some of them are on the pricey side. The build-quality of the XE is high, too, though some of the switches and buttons feel a tad flimsy and plasticky, and the cloth seats that come with the entry level models may not be everyone's cup of tea. All in all, this car offers a fine balance of performance and comfort and efficiency, and it's definitely worth a look if you want an executive saloon.
