Wednesday rant: I thought I would find bargains!

Due to the effects of COVID-19 on our economy very few industries have fared well over the last couple of months. Companies are having to come up with ingenious ideas to try and keep their cash-flows going.

Now, I’m not one to take advantage of anyone’s misfortune – far from it. However, the opportunist in me did think that there would probably be some really good deals on brand new cars going on at the moment. Surely new car dealers are scrambling for any sales they can right? Naturally, I thought there must be some amazing bargains and deals starting to appear on new cars. Nope, you’ll just be asking yourself where on earth are all these new car bargains? There are none!

If car manufacturers think that people will be rushing to buy a brand new car after lockdown is eased then I personally think they’re in for a big shock. For me, now is the exact time when car manufacturers have to pull their fingers out and help their dealers make buyers offers they can’t refuse.

So, for the time being, if you want to take advantage any car bargains out there then you’re probably better looking at used cars.
