2005-2010 BMW M6
If you’re a true petrol head then one of the main job requirements is to lust after BMW’s legendary M cars. We tell you why we think you should seriously consider getting one.
As good as the BMW M3 and M4 cars are, and they are good, for us they are just that little bit too common. If you’re after something altogether more exclusive then you should take a serious look at the BMW M6. Next to its younger siblings the M6, like the one we have pictured, is almost as rare as England winning a penalty shootout!
The M6 really is an M car through and through with the kind of hugely attractive vital statistics that you’d expect of a car that shares its engine with the mighty M5. What we like most about this car is that it’s actually quite subtle where very few people will know at first glance that this beauty actually has a beast of a V8 engine with the best part of 500 break horse power (bhp) which can get you from 0-60 miles per hour in just a smidgen over 4 seconds.

It’s when you first hit the roads that you’ll immediately realise just what this car’s capable of from the best seat in the house – behind the wheel. It’s in the driver’s seat that you can really revel in the glorious sound of that ten cylinder engine, the awesome performance and the superb handling.
Admittedly it’s certainly not easy to find a BMW M6 within a £15k budget. Even if you do find some examples then they’ll probably be the coupe variants rather than the beautiful soft-top that’s worth thousands more. However, it’s without doubt worth the extra pounds to find one that can have the roof down!
